Quantum Theory Contains Maximally Incompatible Observables    [PDF]

Paul Busch, Teiko Heinosaari, Jussi Schultz
We show that Quantum Theory contains observables that are as incompatible as any probabilistic physical theory can have. We define the joint measurability region of a probabilistic theory which describes the amount of added noise needed to make any pair of observables in the theory jointly measurable. We then show that the joint measurability region of Quantum Theory is contained in the joint measurability region of any other probabilistic theory.
